Built by heart, inspired by Destiny

Shear Destiny began on March 8, 2011, as a small salon in Twin Mountain, New Hampshire. I had a dream of creating something of my own, but from the very beginning, this business has meant so much more to me than simply owning a salon.

I named Shear Destiny in loving memory of my late daughter, Destiny. Her name has been a part of this business from day one, and as Shear Destiny has grown, I've carried her memory with me every step of the way.

There is another very special person whose memory will always be a part of Shear Destiny: my best friend, Sarah Merchant. Sarah and I met while attending beauty school, where we became best friends and roommates. We shared not only a friendship, but also a love for the beauty industry that became such an important part of both of our lives.

Before Sarah passed away, she gave this business something that remains with us today: she designed the Shear Destiny logo. Knowing that something she created continues to represent the business makes our logo much more than a design to me. It's another piece of someone I loved woven permanently into the story of Shear Destiny.

The journey certainly hasn't happened overnight. Shear Destiny moved three times before I was finally able to purchase the property we now call home. We've been here for 10 years, and during that time, I've watched what started as a hair salon grow into the full-service salon and day spa it is today.

I'm especially proud of how much of that transformation I've been a part of personally. I've spent countless nights and weekends working on this building with my own hands, renovating, improving, creating new spaces, and figuring things out along the way. Every new room and every new service has been another step toward the dream I had for this place.

Today, Shear Destiny offers so much more than I could have imagined when I first opened the doors. We've brought together hair, skincare, massage, nails, lashes and brows, waxing, Head Spa treatments, HydraFacial, body treatments, medical aesthetics, and more, creating a place where our guests can truly take time for themselves.

When I look around Shear Destiny today, I don't just see a business. I see years of hard work, long days, late nights, determination, and a whole lot of heart. I see an incredible team and the clients who have supported us and allowed us to continue growing.

Most of all, I see a dream that carries Destiny's name and Sarah's creativity two very special pieces of my life that will forever be part of Shear Destiny.
